Deavers + Guenthers = BFF’s

We met our very favorite BFF’s last week in Hastings to enjoy the waterpark (although Luke didn’t get to come—darn 5 day work week!) We met for a lunch of Carry Out Pizza Hut (these people know me!) and then headed over for water fun. Three adults and 6 kiddos 6 and under made for an exhausting but very awesome afternoon. Leo has been talking about the waterpark ever since we got back!

Before we drove home (in a thunderstorm), Katie and Paul did  a quick photo shoot.

Why, oh why do you live so far away, dear friends??? As second best, our basement is always ready for you to come and stay!

Swedish Fest Parade

Here’s the littles before the parade with buckets empty. Within an hour, four buckets were filled to the brim and we’ll have candy until Halloween!

Family Vaca

We debated for a while about where to take the kiddos for a family vacation this summer and finally landed on beautiful, tropical Omaha! We figured with the kids being young, they really don’t care where we end up!

We stopped at the Dinosaur Museum in Milford. It wasn’t everything we dreamed of, but the kiddies enjoyed it.

We stayed at the Ramada Inn with the Coco Keys water resort attached. The water park was fun for all of us and we loved that we could just walk back and forth to our room!

We spent one night at The Amazing Pizza Machine. It was everything the name suggests! That place did not disappoint! As an added bonus, Jake joined us for pizza and fun.

Leo insisted on riding this Frog Hopper ride with his brothers. We doubted he would love it, but we let him give it a try… Here’s him having fun…

And then not so much. The attendant was awesome and stopped the ride for him.

Soon, he was all smiles again!

Go Karts was the big kids (and Luke’s) favorite thing of the entire weekend. Of course, pregnant momma did not get to go, so I stood with Leo and watched.

Batter Up!

I feel like I’ve been waiting 6 years to watch this little man on the ball field. It just seems like the height of childhood memories. Luke coached D’s team. It was so funny watching all these little ones. I don’t think I saw a single out the entire season. Their naiveté and lack of attention was adorable and cute, but I have to admit, by game 7 I was just willing one. single. kid. to catch the ball! They loved it, though—especially the nights we got popsicles following the game!

Dominic was actually decent at the game. He always knew which way to throw the ball and would run all the way from third base to right field just to field a hit.

And the rest of us enjoyed taking in the baseball atmosphere. The three younger kiddos ran in and out of the dugout most of the games.

We’re so into silly pictures right now.

And Leo played in the dirt all game (when we let him come—other times he stayed at Jake and Jena’s)

Great season, little D-Man!
