So, basically, Luke and I are wimps. Four hours to and from Omaha for a vacation did not seem worth the payoff when it came down to it. So we decided to stay closer to home and go to Hastings for the day. There is a surprising amount of awesome things to do there.
We started our day with lunch at a park. It was a beautiful day.
I really think that 50% of the photos I have of Leo are of him eating.
The Children’s Museum in Hastings had lots of fun exhibits, too. Leo drove the firetruck forever. Of course, the fire department exhibit was the most fun for all of them. We spend our time evenly split between superheros and firemen around here…

And we ended the day with a trip to the Hastings Waterpark. Leo is totally fearless in the water, making it a very fun but exhausting day. We did the baby waterslide with all four kiddos and rode down the lazy river a few times, too.
It was nice to sleep in our own beds at the end of the very busy day. The kiddos were really, really good. Maybe next year we’ll get a little more brave with them. :)
