A Very Merry Christmas

We began our Christmas celebrations in Wahoo with my family. Of course, I forgot my camera (sorry, mom), but we had an awesome time being with the Mach family. It is growing fast with Lizzy getting married in 9 months and Jake’s girlfriend, Gina. We love the extras joining us! Saturday we opened presents as a family and Sunday we did the Bruggeman side,  always a Christmas highlight!

Monday we hurried back and hosted the Deaver’s (minus Ben and Brittany—we missed you!) at our house.

After waiting on Tom and Luke who were sent to get a block of cheese at the grocery store for 45 minutes and on stair casualty (Jake sprained his ankle), I almost thought our Christmas was done for. We rallied, though, and had a crazy present opening session and a great Clam Chowder/oyster stew dinner.

The twins love, love, LOVE gum.

The Hulk mask was/is a favorite. He wears it all the time and yells in a growly voice, “HULK!”

Grandma D sat with the kiddos while they ate and told loooong stories. Luckily, she has lots of patience.

Each sippy and cup represents one crazy kiddo. I just had to laugh at the sight.

The next morning we opened stocking presents before Mass.

And I tried my hand at Prime Rib for the first time (with lots of help) for lunch. The kiddos got pigs in a blanket.  Hard to justify force feeding them $6/lb meat when they just love hotdogs so much… Smile

Every year I’m becoming more and more aware of what a blessing it is to have these littles to enjoy the holidays with. Every birthday and every Christmas with them is like celebrating for the very first time.
