Growing Up
Jackson: I'm all ready for preschool because I can almost chew with my mouth closed.
Dominic: You really don't need to know how to chew with your mouth closed to go to preschool, Jackson.

Leo’s taste
This little boy would ONLY eat green grapes dipped in ranch for lunch the other day. I had to give him seconds and thirds while the other boys finished their meals and went on to play time. Who doesn’t love ranch? However, this might be taking it a bit far…
Fort Kearney
We spent a free Sunday at Fort Kearney. We’d heard great things about the state park, so we packed up our life jackets and a lunch and we were off.
The kiddos enjoyed the sand and lake. Fish would swim right up to us—the biggest thrill of the day for the boys.
Then we tried out a trail. There were mulberry trees every few steps along the way. Luke loves mulberries and he’s teaching the kiddos to love them, too.
I was so busy trying to get this shot of the four boys that I missed a deer jumping across the path. Typical me.
The trail took us to a bridge over the Platte River. It was a little terrifying for my acrophobic husband and eldest child, so we enjoyed the view safely from the bench on the bridge. Also note in this picture Leo’s little face with evidence of the mulberries he’d indulged in mixed with dirt from the path when he biffed it while running in his flip-flops.
Good, good Sunday.
Our favorite Emily
I randomly took the littles to Lincoln to visit dear Emily a few weeks ago. We enjoyed seeing and staying in her new home for the night and having all kinds of fun.
We first went to the Woods Splash Park and there were, literally, no other people there! It was awesome!
Then we met Big Patrick at Lost in Fun and had dinner.
I’ve started noticing all the places you can find this sign. I guess I wasn’t supposed to be jumping in the bounce houses, so don’t tell my doctor…
Then we put the kiddos down for bed and Emily and I enjoyed a movie and adult time. Thanks for hosting us! We had a great time!!

Seussical
We took the littles to Seussical the Musical last week in Kearney. It was a perfect way to introduce them to musicals—it was outside with plenty of space to roam and no worries that Leo was constantly screaming at me, “MOM! When is the Cat in the hat coming back out to turn the page??” it was a very laid back atmosphere. We took a picnic and ate in the grass before the show began.
It was all so well done that the kiddos were enthralled the whole time.
Although, Leo got a little tired by the end of the night. He perked back up on the way to the car and made everyone around us laugh
every time he struck a pose with a well placed jazz hand and yelled “Seuss!”
