Lake

Lake season is here. Our first weekend was pretty chilly, but we celebrated Dominic and Jessica's birthdays.

On a cold day, bubbles can occupy for a long time.

The kiddos got a joint birthday cake.

Dominic got super sweet Spiderman sheets and a comforter to go in his superhero room (if we ever get it done....)

It was a happy day for two special littles.

Careers 101

Dominic: When I grow up, I want to be one of those guys who tells bad guys they have to go to jail.

Me: Like a judge?

Dominic: Yea!

Luke: Before you become a judge you have to be an attorney--like your dad!

Jackson: Yea, (miming driving a car) and then you have to turn, and turn and turn the car.

Directed by Dominic Deaver

The other day, I caught Dominic making up a whole story about wolves and sheep and then casting his brothers as characters. Then he bossed them around as to what their lines were and where they were supposed to stand.

Anyone who knows me from my childhood knows he comes by it naturally. And I couldn't be more proud...

Also Today

Patrick: Dad, yesterday (and by yesterday, he means any day that was before today--this happened about a year ago) we ate all the vitamins and mom had to call the Boys.

Me: I called the Poisen Control

Patrick: Yeah, mom had to call the Boys in Control.

Today

Jackson: Hey, mom, we're going to the park at Washing-tummy today, huh?

And by that cute bit, he means Washington (the school)

This kid

...is so darn cute right now. He makes us laugh all day. Leo loves making goofy sounds and then covering his eyes and laughing hysterically at himself. And any sound that resembles farting sends him rolling. He talks a lot! He can get pretty much anything he wants. Leo loves giving hugs--good and tight ones, too. And he loves giving kisses--always open-mouthed and always slobbery.

If Luke or I lie on the floor, Leo will climb all over us. Wrestling with daddy is a constant ritual in our home. Leo runs away and looks back, beggy daddy to tackle him again. Leo loves animals-especially our neighbor's dog, Jessie. It's adorable to see him get right in Jessie's face. All he wants to do is keep up with his big brothers. He joins right in in all their games (sometimes, to Dominic, Jackson and Patrick's dismay).

The sirens go off any time the rescue crew is needed and it's become our ritual to pray when we hear them. Leo's started urgently yelling "PRAY" whenever they go off.

Leo is smiles all day long! Just looking at him can put a big grin on his little face. He is so easy to love!
