Go Huskers!

Dominic has been running around with his Husker Jammies. This morning, he woke up and one of the first things out of his mouth was "Go Huskers" (he's well trained). This year he'll be a pretty big fan. He knows how to "throw the bones" and do the "Go Big Red" chant thanks to the patient teaching of dada and Paul. :)
In honor of the upcoming season, felt like I needed to update the background. When I married Luke, I knew the rest of my fall Saturdays would be filled chips, beer and football. Can't wait!

Jabber Box

Dominic amazes us with his expanding vocabulary and imagination every day! He's jabbering lots, now.

This is his lego building of Me (Mommy). Mommy and Daddy were going to Church during this particular play episode.
We also like to draw pictures of Mommy, Daddy, the twins and Dah-kih (Dominic can't say his own name, so this has become his nickname around the house). He likes to draw his brothers crying (a.k.a. lots of scribbles) and then demonstrates what their crying sounds like. He's quite the little drama king.

He's also being a pretty good big brother. "Look, Jah-son, mommy cutting." or, getting right in his brothers' faces "What do you think?"

Upon waking up from a nap the other day, he smashed his nose into his face with his fingers and said "Mama-wook at dis, wook at dis," laughing at his new found trick!

He also loves to sing songs. We frequently sing medleys--beginning the ABC's and getting half way through when D pronounces, "No, Twinkle, Twinkle." He also likes to dance while singing, stomping his right foot to the beat (kind of). He's quite a little ball of energy!

School House Rock, Live!

After weeks of practice, we did it! The kids worked extremely hard!! I loved working with them. It was certainly quite the project, but the cast was a great, great group of hard-working kids. We pushed them to the max and they delivered. Here's a few shots of our times together.
Syble and Jamie enjoying a break from rehearsals. Aren't they cute? :)

And then there's these two clowns :) Austin and Ethan are very well behaved, but thought they needed to stike a silly pose for the camera!

"Three is a Magic Number"

All in unison! We practiced for four weeks and the finished project brought me to tears! They looked so great!

We had a fabulous "Bill" costume made for one of our leads. He was quite the character.

Robbey had a solo in "Conjunction Junction". This song ended up being a hit with the audience.

Beautiful Rebecca and Rebekah getting ready. I had forgotten what all goes into getting ready for performances! We had kids running around all over getting on costumes and make-up.

The whole cast together.

"A Noun is a Person, Place, or Thing"

"Interplanet Janet"

What a wonderful experience! Congrats on a great show, kids!

Little Swimmer

It took most of the summer, but Dominic is finally feeling comfortable in the water. A friend from Church gave us her old pool and we were able to enjoy it a few times. Walking around cautiously turned into sitting cautiously which soon turned into moving around the pool on his hands (he calls it swimming). A big grin was stuck on his face for about 40 mins while he proudly exclaimed "I swimming, I swimming!"

He's starting to really get into pretending. He had his toy dolphin eating me--"Look mama, Dolphin eat knee--roarrr"

The boys can usually be contented by a trip outside in the sun. They sit and kick and coo.

We've also gotten him used to the big pool at Cody Park. Aunt Lizzy had him jumping in and dunking. We're starting to have to keep a much closer eye on him now!
