New tricks

The boys turned five months the past weekend. They're each growing the learning new things every day!

At his most recent weight check, Patrick weighed 12 lb 8 oz. We're not sure if he knows how to roll over or not. His baby sitter Linda and Luke and I have left the room and returned to find him on him back after being left on his tummy. We've also seen Dominic "helping" his brothers roll over, so who knows! He is very loud and loves to make himself heard! Patrick is very smiley and almost always happy.

Jackson is pretty laid back. He is still a little smaller than Patrick, weighing in at 12 lbs 1 oz at his most recent appointment. He doesn't talk much, but is quite proficient at rolling over front to back and back to front. He LOVES music and lights up as soon as somone sings for him. Dominic likes to sing "Rock-a-bye Baby" and "ABC's", to Jackson's delight! Both twins are beginning to enjoy playing with toys. We still haven't convinced them to sleep much longer than 5 hours at a stretch (on a good night), but mom and dad are pretty used to that by now!

Like Father, Like Son

Dominic loves to do anything Mommy and Daddy are doing. He's quite the little talker now. He can speak full sentences, often asking "Where Daddy" and, his favorite, "What's that" to just about anything he can see or point to! He's also become quite the little gentleman at Church, singing along, "reading" from the missalette, and doing the sign of the cross. He tickles his little brothers (harshly, but none the less...) and helps mommy bake cookies. He's recently learned to crawl into the front seat of our minivan and pretend to drive! All his little Monkey see-Monkey do ways remind me often of the great responsibility of setting a good example all the time!

Date Night

As new parents of twins, we frequently have people offer to help us out. We've learned to accept help whenever possible!! Friends of ours from church had been wanting to watch the kids for a while, so Luke and I went on a much needed date night!

We went to Cody Park and took a picnic. I looked up recipes all week long and ended up making chicken wraps and fruit kabobs. Then, of course, we hit up the Cody concessions. We also enjoyed a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio.

We were so thankful to the Hirsh's for watching the kids! It was a great night!

Guenther for a weekend

Luke went camping with a few of his friends for the weekend and the kids and I spent lots of time with the Guenthers. We missed daddy a lot, but had a good time being an honorary Guenther for the weekend.

Dominic went on the Merry Go Round for the first time. He wasn't thrilled with riding on the horses and eventually ended up riding the sleigh instead--6 times!

The Twins enjoyed the afternoon, too!

Paul was nice enough to take D on the Merry Go Round over and over while I watched the little ones.

Katie and Paul's nephew, Isaac made a good playmate for Dominic! They were pretty cute together.

After some fun at Cody Park, we went to the Guenther's to play in the pool. Dominic was pretty cautious and usually just stayed right outside the pool, rather than in it.

We tried to get a picture of all the boys together. Dominic, Grady, Jackson, Patrick and Isaac sort of posed and baby Luke was sleeping--this was the best we could get!

First Parents of Multiples Meeting

Our First Meeting of the Greater Nebraska Parents of Multiples Group was well attended. We had 9 families represented. It was fun to hear the stories of other twin births and share struggles and joys!

Ethan and Emma Elliot came and Patrick was the chosen twin to go for the night. Taking one baby makes things a little easier for dad.

Our First outing was scheduled for two weeks later. It was a great first meeting and we hope it will continue to grow!

Memorial Day Weekend

Our Family went to Lincoln/Wahoo over Memorial Day weekend. The highlight was the Ordination to the Dioconate of Pat Barvick, Ken Wehrs, Matt Rolling and Steve Thomlison and the Ordination to the Priesthood of Steve Snitily, Jon Haschke, and Andrew Heaslip. We were also able to attend the first Mass of Fr. Snitily.

After one of the ordinations, some of the School Sisters of Christ the King were able to meet the twins for the first time. Here, I'm with Sr. Edith Marie and Sr. Mary Guadalupe and Jackson.

This is Deacon Pat Barvick--one day after being ordained a deacon!

Fr. Buhman LOVES babies. He held Patrick for a while!

After Fr. Snitily's first Mass, the church provided a very nice dinner and reception. Ordination weekends is one of my favorite of the year!

We also spent some quality time with the family. Dominic loves Uncle "Yoocas" and follows him around constantly! He finally convinced Lucas to bring down his "Bee-tar" for Dominic to play.

Aunt Lizzy and D enjoying the summer sun.

Jake and Lucas entertained D with a book about interesting facts. Jake is a pretty good story teller! :)

He's also a good jungle gym.

Here we were trying hard to get a four generations picture with my Grandma, Aunt and Dominic. None of them really turned out--you can see Dominic wasn't too interested in sitting still.
The kids did a great job in our little Taurus all the way to Lincoln and Back. It was the twins' first car ride that far and, thankfully, they slept most of it!
